She passed away in January 2008. Pleshette was graduated from The Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theater and worked under Sanford Meisner. She started her career as a stage actress with more than 100 credits. From 1972 to 1978 her most well-known part was as Emily Hartley on The Bob Newhart show. Pleshette was Christine Broderick's lead in Nightingales (1989). She was Jackie Hansen in the television show The Boys Are Back from 1994 to 1995. Pleshette was frequent on the TV show Suzanne Pleshette. Her characters included Maggie Briggs (Good Morning, Miami), 8 Simple Rules and Will & Grace. She was also a part of The Geisha Boy as well as The Birds. She was nominated to an Annie Award for her singing in The Lion King II: Simba's Pride. Pleshette received nominations for two Golden Globe Awards.
