The song is a blend of reggaeton and pop did not only bring attention for reggaeton, it also brought attention to Latin music more generally. Drake collaborated with Bad Bunny in the project MIA MIA (2018) as well as Madonna collaborated with Maluma on Medellin. In the year 2020, some Reggaeton stars were dissatisfied with its direction toward mainstream. However, a younger generation Rauw Alejandro, was keen to maintain the development. It often utilized elements of electronic dance music along with other styles.
